Kawasaki Estrella Serial Models

Kawasaki began
developing the BJ250 Estrella.
The first version, the BJ250 A, never
appeared on the Japanese market.
The BJ250 A was only exported
to Europe 3 ears later.


1992

The first Estrella
BJ250 B1 appears in
the Japanese market.
She has the same tank logo like all German A-version models.

follows the BJ250 B2.
The main differnce is the change of the tank logo. The colours stay the same.

The BJ250 A1 was a prototype
which came to Germany in 1993.
The ID number and colour prove that the A1 was a slightly changed BJ250 B1 for the German market.
This A1 was never officially solc, but still exists!

The first BJ250 A2
are brought to Germany. Compared to the BJ250 B, she has different mirrors, indicators and a different carburettor. German versions also have no pillions and are only for single person use.

In Japan follows the BJ250 B3. It seems that there were no changes compared to the 1993 model. Maybe she already has a carburettor heating.

In Germany follows the BJ250 A3.
Main differnences are the carburettor
heating and the different position of the rectifier. The shock absorbers still have reservoirs

The Japanese BJ250 B4 was the first Estrella without shock absorbers. She definately had a carburettor heating as standard, too.

The BJ250 C1 is the
first Estrella RS on the Japanese market. The main differnce of the C-version is the double bench for perfect dual person use.

The new shock absorbers and carburettor heating of the B-version were also used for the BJ250 C but another fork bridge and handle bar were used. The BJ250 C received another Estrella logo - the third now. The  BJ250 C1A had - in contrast to the  BJ250 C1 - chromed fenders.

The Estrella BJ250 C2 appeares in Germany and  Europe.
The Estrella BJ250 C2 had officially been sold by Kawasaki Germany from 1996 until 1999.

The first year of the Estrella BJ250 D1, also called Estrella Custom. A modified B-version with drum breaks and bellows as standard.

In the same year the Estrella BJ250 E1, also known as Estrella RS Custom appears on the stage. A mixture between C- and D-version.

In 1997 more Estrella BJ250 C werde produced for the Euopean market. These Estrellas can be identified by their ID number.

the red- silver tank is avaulable the third year.

The silver BJ250 C4
is the same as last year, the red model becomes a bit darker.

as the C-version.

It is the last year of the E-version, too.

All models were available with or without the new KLEEN CATALYZER.
This means that 1999 brought 16 variants!

The first Limited Edition Estrellas
BJ250 G1 and BJ250 H1!
The G1 was based on the C-version,
but has a brown white double bench plus
chromed fenders, headlight housing and side caps.

The BJ250 H1 was
based on the D-version and had a brown-white saddle plus chromed fenders, headlight housing and side caps. It stayed the only H-version built so far.

2003 brought the second Kawasaki Estrella
Limited Edition model,  the BJ250 G2.
The G2 had the same bench as the G1 but the orange tank was much more chromed. She reminds a bit of the Triumph Thunderbird Sport ...

sees three different BJ250 C6F models.
The tank of the yellow Estrella is nearly the same as the tank of the C7. The black one look nearly like the one of the D7, but it has no red in it. The orange tank reminds of the B2, but has the logo of the Limited Edition models.
 
There will only be one BJ250 D6F version in 2006; with the same tank like the black C6F.
 
The Limited Edition BJ250 G6F is the last G-version.

new enviromental restrictions in Japan bring the BJ250 J. The BJ250 J7F is the first Estrella with fuel injection. There is no more diferrence between the »Estrella RS« or »Estrella Custom« type, but only the »Estrella« - like in early days.
The Estrella in the second row came two month later - but it is no special edition Estrella and has no own letter like the »G« or »H« edition.

The new BJ250 J8F is the same model as the 2007 Estrella, only with new colour design.
It first appeared in three colours. In April 2008 came a fourth colour (right picture).
These Estrellas stayed until June 2009. There were no new models in December like the years before.

The 2009 model came very late. In June 2009 it was advertised for July 2009. The colour seems to be the only diffenence, too.

In June 2010 Kawasaki introduced the Estrella for 2011.
The only difference seems to be the colour, An Estrella »JAF« was never produced.

In December 2013 Kawasaki announced the new 2014 Estrellas BJ250L. A lot of details have been changed in contrast to the former BJ250J model.

Together with the BJ250L which is available in two colours, Kawasaki announced a Special Edition version of the Estrella, called BJ250LEFA.
Also many custom parts are available to turn the Estrella into a touring bike or a café racer.

In December 2015 Kawasaki announced the new 2016 Estrellas BJ250LGF in two new colours. Together with the BJ250L, Kawasaki announced a Special Edition version of the Estrella, called BJ250LGFA.

In December 2016 Kawasaki announced the new 2017 Estrella in two new colours. In February 2017 the Special Edition model BJ250LHFA was launched.
On 17.04.2017 Kawasaki announced the »Final Edition« model of the Estrella.
